Em Tyminski is a visual development artist and designer currently based in Irvine, California. As an artist, Em is inspired by and loves exploring character, emotions, and worldbuilding. Being able to enhance the storytelling within a project through visuals is what drives Em as an artist in the industry.

 

In 2019, Em graduated from Texas State University with her BFA in Costume Design and a minor in history. During her 4 years at Texas State University, she designed and helped assist/coordinate multiple pieces, as well as worked at professional theatres. After graduating, Em decided to apply her skills from costume design and love for storytelling in the games industry. In 2020, Em worked with the Entertainment Technology Center as a part of their NHSGA program as a Teaching Assistant as well as on a project called Explore August Wilson's Hill District as an Art Director, 2D Artist, and Narrative Designer. In 2021, she worked on a pre-production project called Pepperbox Productions as a 2D Artist. In May of 2023, Em completed her Masters of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. During her first semester class Building Virtual Worlds, she worked as a 2D artist on various projects. During her semester projects, she worked as a 2D artist on client projects with Games For Change (Terra Thrift) and Electronic Arts (Tabula Rasa). She also worked as a 2D artist on the student VR pitch project Genscape
